yeah, I finally went back for 3 days! I looked like a child on Christmas eve (or morning, for those of you in the US), happy happy little me.. :)
The people, family, the weather, the views, the peace. Really, it’s my little piece of heaven.
Sadly I could only stay for 3 days, but I had the chance to relax, eat good (awesome) food, recharge batteries and learn a bit more information for my family tree project.
Our next stop on our road trip will be Penacova, still in the district of Coimbra:

well, I miss home, as previously said.
So I though a bit on it and I’ll make a virtual road trip from Coimbra (close to where I am) to Miranda do Douro.
Let us start at Coimbra, for now. :)
There’s the Mondego river, there’s the University of Coimbra founded in 1290 and definitively moved to the city in 1537, there’s Fado, there’s the roman villa of Conímbriga…
On a side note, I live just a few miles from Buçaco, with the stunning Mata do Buçaco and Palace as shown (it has that fairy tale look and feeling to it, really):
